Get to Know Abyssinia

Chef Abyssinia's culinary journey began at the age of 10, sparking a lifelong passion for cooking and the culinary arts. After joining a high school culinary arts program, she was set on a path that would lead to success in the food industry.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management from Johnson and Wales University, where she also honed her pastry skills. Abyssinia later traveled to Germany to study wine before returning to New York to continue advancing her career.

Having worked in some of New York's best restaurants and hotels, Abyssinia has mastered a wide range of cuisines and cooking techniques. She specializes in Caribbean, Mexican, Southern, and Italian cuisines, with a focus on using farm-fresh, seasonal ingredients to create healthy and visually stunning dishes.

With over a decade of experience in the food service industry, Abyssinia founded her own Personal Chef and Catering company. Serving families and businesses in the NYC metro area, Abyssinia and her team provide services like in-home dinner parties, cooking classes, and other tailored culinary experiences.
