Abyssinia discovered her love for cooking at the age of 10 and quickly became fascinated with the culinary arts. She pursued her passion and joined a culinary arts program in high school that unknowingly set her on a path to culinary success.
Abyssinia received a bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management from Johnson and Wales University, where she also studied pastry arts. Always eager to learn more, she traveled to Germany to study wine before returning home to New York.
With experience working in some of the best restaurants and hotels, Abyssinia has developed a vast knowledge of various cuisines and cooking styles. Her favorite cuisines include Caribbean, Mexican, Southern, and Italian, and she draws inspiration from the vibrancy of fruits and vegetables to create dishes that are both beautiful and healthy. She also incorporates local, farm-fresh ingredients to diversify her dishes.
After a decade in the food service industry, Abyssinia established her own Personal Chef and Catering company, which serves families and businesses throughout NYC and the surrounding area. Abyssinia and her talented hospitality professionals host a range of events, including in-home dinner parties, cooking classes, and more.
